CO-FOUNDED AND MANAGED successful packaging systems company. This was organized to manufacture and market products based upon my patents, product development and knowledge of the markets. I was influential in bringing this company to a profitable position and $5,000,000 in sales in less than five years.
CREATIVE and can inspire and direct creative people, as well as supervise manufacturing, sales and administrative personnel. I presently have 28 patents issued. Many new successful machines and packages have been developed and marketed under my direction.

HAVE TRAVELED IN EUROPE, MEXICO AND CANADA and negotiated technical aid and license agreements with foreign companies. Have made technical presentations to foreign licensees and conventions.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE in formulations and co-extrusion of films, bag construction, both paper and plastic, as well as the packaging systems to use the products. Published an article on fluidization of dry powdered solids as it pertains to packaging machinery.
HAVE PERSONALLY sold machinery and bags, as well as organized and made technical presentations along with account salesmen. I organized and managed an Engineering Sales and service organization for many years.

BASIC PACKAGING SYSTEMS INC. 1971-1981
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, DIRECTOR AND CO-FOUNDER
Founded and managed company from its inception to a profitable $5,000,000 in sales in less than five years. The company was founded to develop the market for a completely new packaging system requiring manufacturing, marketing and technical developments. Developed new films and markets for the film and bags.
Located and negotiated both domestic and foreign licenses for the products.
DOW CHEMICAL COMPANY 1965-1970
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF R&D FOR CONVERTED PACKAGING PRODUCTS
Directly responsible R&D and was business team manager for Poly Film and Bags, Shrink Saran films and Packaging Systems. Developed and patented a new co-extruded barrier film and packaging system for fresh meat (still in use) .
Developed and patented special bag and packaging system for heavy duty shipping bags (this work was spun off to form Basic Packaging Systems Inc.).
ST. REGIS PAPER COMPANY 1947-1965
DIRECTOR OF PACKAGING ENGINEERING, WEST NYACK, N.Y. 1963-1965
Duties included: Director of 65 employees working upon the development, prototype manufacture, subcontracting and marketing of packaging machinery and systems for manufacturing, filling and closing industrial and consumer size bags.
MANAGER OF PACKAGING MACHINERY, EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. 1960-1963
Duties similar to above except St. Regis also manufactured the packaging machines in their own shops. Therefore, position included coordinating with manufacturing. (In 1964, St. Regis sold its machine manufacturing facilities.) In this position, directed 80 employees.

Duties included the supervision of about 50 engineers, draftsmen, and development shop mechanics.
